Margot's birthday brunch

Our friend Margot has just celebrated her twentieth birthday and today we surprised her with a little birthday brunch by the water, which was totally perfect because the weather was so nice today and sitting down eating brownies is absolutely goalz. It was such a perfect morning... we all got up early to meet up and decorate and prepare everything. Febe made her highly requested brownies (no brownies no parties), we had bread, eggs and fruits. It was just perfect...


Margot had no idea we would be there waiting for her (we tricked her into believing she was actually going to have brunch at a fancy restaurant), sitting by the water with trees behind us decorated with colourful garlands and balloons! And the brownies... I mean I honestly think those were the best I've had in a long time (Febe makes the best brownies). We stuck little colourful flags on them to make them look cute, I mean COME ON it was just incredible... and I am now craving for some while typing this.



We spent the morning catching up, whilst squeezing in more brownies, and eggs, and bread, before heading off to get ourselves on the boats...owhhh snazzy! The lake was crazy beautiful. You're literally in your boat surrounded by green and although it was so in the open air you somehow felt in your own little world...it was absolutely lush...


Being surrounded by people I love is always my favourite time to spend and always leaves me feeling super emosh and appreciative that I have such awesome people surrounding me. I mean... I luv them so much?!!!!

Glorious and beautiful, marvelous and wonderful

I've been introduced to this song by my cousin just a few days ago.. she sent me a voice note of her singing the song at the bus stop and I listened to it so many times. It was recently represented at the New Creation Church's youth camp "Legacy", which my cousin attended. This song captured me right at the very beginning and before I knew it, I was humming along to the lyrics and I've replayed the voice note 8 times. 

 So when Nasya, my cousin, whatsapped me the whole worship sesh the next morning I listened to it right after I woke up. I intended to only listen for 10 minutes max for the song, but ended up listening to the 1 hour worship session all by myself in my bedroom, soaked in tears. Tears of gratefulness and amaze to realise that yes, our God is good and faithful. This song has touched my soul to a great extent and it has been tugging my heart ever since. 
This is a worship song that I just want to share with you guys so that you'd be blessed, and I want to bring you closer to God :) and maybe for those who feel a bit far away from Him, or don't really know who God is, this is just another way to share a bit of His love and His presence and the hope that I personally find in His name.

Comforter

Lately, I feel discouraged as I feel like I've been missing out relationally, not being able to be involved in any sort of weekly group, in ministry that I used to have. My friend back home occasionally sends me video clips, snapchats and voice notes during cell group, so does my cousin, and I keep finding myself feeling a bit nostalgic and I!! want!! to!! be a part of that!!! Ha... But hey, even though my struggle is real, my struggle reveals that my God is my comforter. He is my portion.

The Lord specifically planted 1 Samuel 30 in my heart as I got more and more discouraged, as I felt that I wasn't growing spiritually. Praise God, for His Word is alive and active- sharper than a two-edged sword, having the final say over every feeling and my emotions. 1 Samuel 30 tells the story of King David defeating the Amalekites. However, verse 10 recounts that two hundred men who were too exhausted to cross Brook Besor (literal meaning: 'good news') stayed behind. Still, at the end of the story these men received equal portion of treasures recovered from the Amalekites as those who actively fought the battle with King David.

This passage shows me that just because I'm resting and not actively fighting battles it does not make me any less significant. The victory is still mine, for He is the One fighting on behalf of me. He has won the prize for me (!!!) I'm not losing anything, or anyone. I am gaining more of Him. With God, a waiting season is never a wasted season. 
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ. - 2 Corinthians 1:3-5

Favourite sunset

It's been a while... and I'm longing to go back. The sand and the water and the people walking by. The sunsets. Those in-between meals and the scorching hot weather. Walking in flip flops. Sand on your toes. Ayam kremes (!!!) and crazy busy streets. Taking mainstream photographs of the sea. Blue skies and clear waters. Sunblock on your back. Laughing too loud and not care. Also my best friend. Yes. I definitely miss her the most.
